If you are an avid reader of our newsletters, then you may be aware that in 2021 we were awarded the Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation. This is the highest level of accreditation under the government-backed scheme.

What is Cyber Essentials

Cyber Essentials is a government-backed accreditation created to demonstrate your organisations IT systems and security meet an acceptable level of protection.

It is frequently requested by government and private tenders who require proof that the organisations they deal with have taken best practise steps to protect sensitive information from cyber-attacks.

It comprises of a mix of both procedural and technical requirements relating to all aspects of IT security within your business.

What is Cyber Essentials Plus?

Cyber Essentials Plus builds on the Cyber Essentials Basic accreditation and is a much more rigorous test of an organisations security systems. Whereas the Cyber Essentials Basic follows the self-certification model, plus involves internal and external vulnerability scans to test for security vulnerabilities and check patching status of your organisation amongst other items.
It requires policies and procedures to be put in place to automate the constant protection of organisational security and ensure it keeps up with constantly moving goalposts.

What does this mean for us and our customers?

Since we have achieved the high level of security required to pass this accreditation, customers can feel reassured that DCS has the very latest policies and procedures in place to protect their data and services.
It also means we are highly qualified to advise upon best practises for network and data security, backup, and disaster recovery.

How can we help you?

Perhaps you have heard about Cyber Essentials but are unsure what it entails, or you have a potential customer you want to deal with that requires your organisation to be certified.
Or you may just want the reassurance of a security review to give your systems a once over and understand where you are currently sitting in terms of security.

Whatever questions you have we would be happy to help so please get in touch with your account manager if you would like a chat.
